Interprofessional Center for Palliative Care Education
The project goal is to develop an Interprofessional Center for Palliative Care Education that will offer 1) an educational minor in palliative care to UCSF students; 2) a post-graduate certificate in palliative care for interprofessional practicing clinicians; and 3) a post-graduate fellowship in palliative care for advanced practice nurses, social workers, and chaplains, in collaboration with the already existing MD fellowship in palliative care offered at UCSF.
“Effective leadership at the national level will require additional mentoring in communicating vision, building effective teams, management skills, and program development within the context of larger systems. The Sojourns Scholar Leadership Program will provide mentorship and guidance to clarify my strategic vision for interprofessional education in palliative care; identify gaps and solutions required for successful implementation; develop a voice of advocacy and inspiration in support of the vision; and assemble and lead a team dedicated to interprofessional palliative care education.”
