Empowering employees to drive positive change

The Cambia Community Resilience Fund is an innovative program that invites Cambia employees into the philanthropic giving work of Cambia Health Foundation.

Empowering employees to drive positive change
Cambia Health Foundation believes in the power of community-driven change. That's why we introduced the Cambia Community Resilience Fund (CCRF) last year, an innovative program that engages employees in philanthropic giving and encourages them to nominate causes that are meaningful to them and aligned to our focus areas of Resilient Children & Families and Healthy & Connected Aging.

Each year, we train a team of up to 30 employee volunteers in the grantmaking process and honing their analytical, evaluation and impact assessment skills to review funding applications from nominated organizations. The employee volunteers are representative of different functional areas across our parent company, Cambia Health Solutions, and each of our four states. Based on their recommendations, the Foundation selects one finalist per state to receive a $30,000 donation. This year, CCRF received 41 nominations, with 35 nonprofits submitting funding applications.

Meet Our 2024 CCRF Finalists

We're proud to introduce the four organizations selected as our 2024 CCRF finalists, approved by the Cambia Health Foundation:
  • Alzheimer's Association of Greater Idaho - Working to end Alzheimer's and dementia through global research, risk reduction, and quality care and support. “Thousands in the rural region of Idaho are impacted by Alzheimer’s disease, and many individuals, whether they have the disease or are caregivers, are not aware that there is help available for them. With this support, we can extend our outreach and services to ensure that no one faces this journey alone,” said Mercedes Muñoz, Program Director.
  • Friends of the Children Utah - Empowering youth facing the greatest obstacles through consistent, holistically supportive relationships with professional mentors. “By investing in these strong, long-term relationships, Cambia is helping us break the cycle of poverty and trauma and deepen our impact, empowering children, and their families to grow and thrive,” said Kelsey Lewis, Executive Director.
  • Little Light Counseling and Resource Center - Improving the lives of Jackson County children by removing financial barriers to counseling and parenting education. “By offering free parenting education to low-income participants, focusing on underserved communities in our area, we can have a lasting impact on the future of children in Jackson County. According to the Centers for Disease Control, 64% of adults have experienced at least one Adverse Childhood Event (ACE). Parenting education is proven to prevent ACEs,” said Mimi French-Templeton, Executive Director.
  • Skagit Preschool and Resource Center (SPARC) - Providing support and removing barriers to care for children who need access to therapy, early education, and early intervention services. “Funding will offer direct support towards SPARC’s various programs including affordable preschool education, free and low-cost therapy, parental and family support services, and early intervention programming. We cannot thank Cambia Health Foundation enough for helping keep our specialized services accessible and affordable to children with unique developmental needs,” said Amanda Sloan, Executive Director.

These organizations embody the spirit of community resilience, and we're honored to support their vital work in the lives of individuals and families across our region. We thank our employees for volunteering their time to participate in the grantmaking process. We believe that by empowering our employees to nominate and support local nonprofits, we can create a ripple effect of positive change in our communities.
